This project involved the construction of an additional 7th Courtroom and associated Judge Chambers in the historic 125+ year-old Washington County Courthouse to accommodate the County’s growing court system. Existing masonry-bearing vault walls were removed, and installation of a 10,000 lb. steel beam was installed to support the courtrooms on the floors above. The means & methods necessary for the installation of the steel beam required ingenuity and strategic planning. High-end wood millwork was installed to finish off the new courtroom and fit the historic look of the Courthouse. Complete MEP upgrades were included to accommodate this new space and minor renovations to Courtroom #6.
